Kimberley Dayle Anderson was born in Wascana/Regina. She grew up in Mohkinstsis/Calgary and attended the Alberta College of Art and Design. She transferred to Concordia University in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Animation with Distinction in 2005.

Anderson was actively involved in various capacities at the Quickdraw Animation Society, producing independent animated films including Hold, The Fall, and 2. She also taught there, and served on the Board of Directors. Her focus was 2D traditional, frame by frame animation and old film cameras.

She is currently in Mihkwâpisimosos/Red Deer, writing books and screenplays, studying ethnobotany and growing things.
